On December 28th, I made a reservation at this hotel for a highly anticipated New Year's holiday. After a lengthy train ride, we arrived in town after 7 PM and struggled to find a taxi service. We attempted to walk to the lodge with four pieces of luggage, which proved impossible. ( Don’t attempt to walk up especially past 6pm, even if Google maps says so. Uber not available!) Eventually, we called for assistance and were provided with a number to contact Frutty Taxi, which charged 30 CHF for a 5-10 minute ride. We finally checked in around 9 PM, feeling tired and exhausted, only to encounter an unfriendly male concierge. As first-time visitors, our unmet expectations—no on-site restaurant or available food, with the nearest option a 15-minute downhill walk—negatively impacted us. The concierge's behavior, raising his voice and making threats when I mentioned regretting not reading reviews beforehand, further exacerbated the situation. Is this the standard treatment for international guests? This experience completely soured our mood, leaving my family deeply upset. It's disheartening that this occurred during such a special time of the year.😢😢😢 Hospitality is paramount as it shapes guests' experiences, influencing their satisfaction, comfort, and likelihood to return. It's a cornerstone for building a positive reputation and fostering guest loyalty.
